Weekend Round Up

Weekend Round Up

After a greats weekend of attempting to dodge the rain where every possible here’s a quick round up with only 9 training sessions left till Ironman Austria.

Feeling good on the bike having improved 50 strata segments over the weekend even though mean to be taking it a bit easier. Limited the ride time to just over 2.5jours and covered 85km. Best bit was this included a Austria like climb and as cool to see on the route profile. Means I should be fine with the current gear ratios.

Slight issue with the bike from the bit of rain got caught in but that can be fixed easily in time so feeling quite happy.

Sunday woke listening to the rain! Not totally filled with joy got up and headed to the lake. The sun was trying to come out but the best bit was the lake was warmer than a week again! Summers coming warm rain!

Working on being neat and powerful without much splash 2.2km felt quite easy and very short. Off on to a run around, a very wet, Dorney lake which turned into a run up and down Dorney while watched some to the Eton Man competitors go by in the horrible wet conditions. Felt sorry for those who were walking bikes back with puncher.

It being taper time the distances have been shortened but over the last week the intensity has been kept about the same. Next week’s plan is shorter sessions again but modulate intensity and really focus on form.

From a food preparation stand point staying with low carb food ahead of boosting energy levels later next week.
