Coached Athletes’ Testimonials

If you’re looking for a triathlon or multi-sport coach who will really help you achieve your training and race goals, I couldn’t recommend Mark at MAMultisport highly enough.
Mark’s approach is refreshing and personal. He takes the time to get to know you, your goals and your target races and then he tailors a training programme for you. With Mark it’s certainly not a case of one size fits all. He’s approachable and personable and knows just how to connect with people, which means he’s able pitch things perfectly – whether you’re a newbie or an experienced athlete or pro.
My performances had plateaued a bit over the past few years – I was doing plenty of swimming, biking and running in training but, frustratingly, wasn’t seeing the improvements relative to the amount of training effort. I started working with Mark this winter and one of the new aspects he has introduced to my training is a strength and conditioning routine, which I believe is achieving two key things: making me a stronger athlete and helping keep injuries at bay. At the start of my programme Mark took the time to join me for my first S&C session to make sure I was doing things properly. Not only did he demonstrate the correct technique but he also explained how each exercise would tangibly benefit a particular aspect of my swim stroke, running form or cycling technique.
Mark doesn’t just send me a weekly training programme and then hope for the best; he checks in with me throughout the week, particularly if I’m doing something new. And it’s plainly evident that he reads and absorbs the training feedback I send him, because he uses that information to tweak the following weeks’ programmes.
Mark is also supremely knowledgeable about wider aspects of triathlon, including nutrition, kit and technology and how they can enhance training and performance; and he is always happy to share that knowledge or answer queries or questions.
